What difference does it make?

Conversation at a recent bible study… Q: What was the 1st bird released from Noah’s ark? A: A Dove A: Wrong! Read it for yourself (Gen 8:7). The Dove was the 2nd bird released, and how many times was it released and what did it come back with? Q: How many of each kind of animals did Noah bring into the ark? A: 2 of each kind. A: Wrong! See the right answer (Gen 7:2) Why do you think that was? To which, they said to me: ‘What difference does it make?” Isn't that what Hillary Clinton said too? I mean, we’re talking about The Word of The Creator and you don’t think it makes a difference? No wonder, it’s all about His people needing to turning from their wicked ways! Throw out His ‘Law’ and what do you get? We get what we got! What difference does it make?

‘You Might Be an Abomination….. If’

‘You Might Be an Abomination….. If’ February 2013 Rick Godley



A while back a comedian by the name of Jeff Foxworthy made us laugh at ourselves while he made a lot of money pointing out the truth of life. His comedy shtick, was called, ‘You might be a Redneck, If…’ and proceeded to list slice of life items that made us laugh cause they contained truth.
 Here’s only 10 in no particular order. You might be a redneck If:
1) You think loading the dishwasher means getting your wife drunk.
2) You own a home that is mobile an 5 cars that aren’t.
3) You own a homemade fur coat.
4) The Salvation Army declines your mattress.
5) Your schools fight song was Dueling Banjo’s
 6) The taillight covers on your car are made of red tape
7) You’ve ever financed a tattoo
 8) Your dog and your wallet are both on a chain
9) Redman Chewing tobacco sends you a Christmas Card
10) Your house doesn't have curtains, but your truck does

And on and on….quite amusing I think we all would agree.

Why is it in religion, we want to all condemn those homosexuals and queers as abominations?

 Ask any religionist who says that and ask him or her, where does it say that in The Bible?

 Chances are they won’t know the exact chapter and verse, yet, they will have to go back to that Old Testament to get it, you know that part of the book that modern religion teaches is old, and done away with.

'That Law thing' that we’re not ‘under’ anymore cause our homeboy ‘Jesus’ took care of dat and we’re now under grace.

Why is it that modern religion want to throw out that ‘Law’ cause it’s sooooooo burdensome and done away with, YET, will gladly take up the tithe of people’s money and say homosexuals are abominations. 

Sounds like selective religious amnesia to me, choosing to remember what we want to remember and choosing to forget what we want to forget. While the Word of The Creator does list a host of activates as abominations in Leviticus 18, I've come up with another list of 10 other Abominations that we might want to review before we go to that 'Big A' in Lev. 18.

 So here goes, I’ll only do 10, there are more!

1) You might be an abomination IF you have lying lips! Proverbs 12:22 a. Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who act faithfully are his delight.

 2) You might be an abomination IF you have wicked thoughts! Proverbs 15:26 a. The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD, but gracious words are pure.

3) You might be an abomination IF you have Pride! Proverbs 16:5 a. Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the LORD; be assured, he will not go unpunished.

 4) Your Money might be an abomination! Proverbs 20:10 a. Unequal weights and unequal measures are both alike an abomination to the LORD.

 5) Your Prayers might be an abomination! Proverbs 28:9 a. If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination. (You still want to say The Law is done away with? (Matt 5 17-20)

6) Your Food might be an abomination! Deuteronomy 14:3 a. "You shall not eat any abomination. (‘Jesus never ate a pork chop nor a BLT, Thank God!)

 7) Your Worship might be an abomination! Deuteronomy 17:3-4 a. and has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, or the sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have forbidden, and it is told you and you hear of it, then you shall inquire diligently, and if it is true and certain that such an abomination has been done in Israel,

 8) Walt Disney cartoons might be an abomination! Deuteronomy 18:10-12 a. There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD. And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you.

 9) Dare I say your Fleur DeLis, Gold Crucifix, Rabbits foot could be an abomination! Deuteronomy 27:15 a. "'Cursed be the man who makes a carved or cast metal image, an abomination to the LORD, a thing made by the hands of a craftsman, and sets it up in secret.' And all the people shall answer and say, 'Amen.' 

10) Your lips may be an abomination! Proverbs 16:6 a. a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. (Might want to think about what you say about someone before you say it!) 

As you can see, these aren't as funny as Jeff Foxworthy’s yet they are just as True since they are the Words of The Creator who speaks only Truth. There are more. My point, if we who profess belief in the Creator from The Beginning of The Book would check our own abominations, then possibly, quite possibly, those other abominations wouldn't have a foothold to grow in The Body.

Why would believers have to return?

October 2012 Recently I just finished reading ‘The Harbinger’ by Jonathan Cahn. I confess I must have come from the region of Sardonica, because, when something is on the New York Times Bestseller list, I cast an eye of skepticism about motives of the author. At the end of the 1st chapter I even wrote, ‘ Oh Brother not another Tim LaHaye shtick, on 4/15/12. When I finished the book I went back to re-read from the beginning again, and am happy to note, I made this note in reference to my Tim LaHaye comment, ‘no it’s not, I am glad to report.’ I’m not going to review the book, except to say that is worth the read. I do intend on contacting the author to interview him, (he’s a Jersey guy who happens to lead a worship center made up of Jew and Gentile (GASP!!) called Jerusalem Center/Beth Israel). The book’s center point is the prophecy of Isaiah 9 and how it correlates to ‘ancient Israel’ and modern America as it relates to calamities and crushing incidents in the life of a nation and how the people respond, verses how The Father would like them to respond. I do suggest you check into it by going to www.wnd.com to find out more. I understand they have made a movie to get the message out. What intrigues me in this day/hour/season of awakenings, is one morning I received a call from what I perceived an elderly, (full disclosure, I’m 57), so I mean older than me, who wanted me to recite 2nd Chronicles 7:14 over the air. I refer to that verse as the Quaalude verse of the bible to make folks dumb and stupid by being under the influence of a narcotic or controlled substance. Quaaludes had the number 714 written on them and ‘back in the day’ folks would ask for ‘714’s’ if they wanted to do ‘downers’. I was never a ‘downer’ kind of guy, I mean who had time or the want to get on a downer! That’s for another article and another time forgotten place, when your eyes looked from your mothers face…( sorry, slipped in a Grateful Dead lyric, do you know which one? E-mail me and I’ll know you’re in-tune): back to 2nd Chronicles 7:14. You know that verse, you’ve heard it preached before, you’ve seen it posted on Yards signs, Billboards, bumper stickers and an article I wrote in this newsletter in August of 2011, titles, ‘Is Prayer America’s Only Hope?’ I’m not even going to quote the verse, probably because you already know it by heart, yet, have not come to a fuller understanding of what it means? Thus, the topic of this month’s article! A great question was asked by protagonist of the book, Nouriel, (or is he the antagonist? I never understood the difference; the results were always the same!) Anyway on page 222, Nouriel asks a questions in response to 2nd Chronicles 7:14, ‘But why would believers have to return? I ask you, fellow Believer, why do you have to return? Know that I am not here to shame nor embarrass or hurt you in asking that question. But I would submit, you really don’t have a satisfactory answer to that question for yourself, let alone for your family or your friends. Why do you have to return IF you are a Believer? No one is suggesting that you don’t love ‘Jesus’ The Messiah, nor are we suggesting that you are NOT saved! I am suggesting that possibly, you could be a ‘seed’ on the side of the road, or perhaps the ‘seed’ sown in the rocky places or among the thorns, that’s not may call, I am not ‘The Lord of The Harvest’. Yet The Lord of The Harvest said that this was THE MOST IMPORTANT parables! And IF you don’t get THIS ONE, HOW WILL YOU GET ANYTHING ELSE I’M TRYING TO SAY!!!!!!! (Mark 4:13 Godley Amplified version). Which tells me: throw away/renounce your seminary/cemetery degrees and RETURN! Otherwise, the sheep of today would have a clue! Instead, TODAY, ‘we are ALL like sheep that have gone astray’ (Isaiah 53:6) Now, before you begin to think that Isaiah was talking to THEM and not to us, then why would Tom Dashle (of all people) on 9/12/2001 and John Edwards (of all people) 9/11/2004 utter Isaiah 9:10 in important speeches? (No! I AM not anti democrat and Pro Republican! Rick Godley is an American political Atheist! Coming out of her, Oh MY people). No I do NOT wish ill will on anyone, yet, look at these 2 men and their lives since their utterances. Just sayin, yes I Do realize the importance of my words and am very careful to what I say to whom I say it! (James 3:1) Here’s the point of my article… do TODAY’S ‘Christians’ realize that THEY are the ones to RETURN? Not the abortion doctors, the homosexuals/lesbians, Hollywood movie producers, Democrats! The problem is, if you are a Christian, do you even know where to RETURN and WHY? (No!!!!! I am not talking about going back to church! This time, it’s WAAAAY bigger than that! This time its HIM =The Creator RESTORING (Acts 1:6) We are not leaving this place and going to Heaven, we are going BACK for our Future!!!! Jeremiah says that The Creator/Our Father pleads with us to Stop, Look an Listen, when he writes, "Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, (Just like WE are still saying), We will not walk in it!’ (Jer.6:16) How many times have you been told, that Old Way, that Old Testament, that Old stuff is done away, we don’t walk in it anymore? Brother/Sister Christian, the reason why you’ve cried so many tears in what you thought was repentance because it’s what you were taught. (And we were taught wrong, (Jeremiah 16:9). YOU DO TOO have to Walk in it!!!! ‘whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. (1 John 2 6-7) Wonder why your prayers aren’t being answered? You’re turned the wrong way! Turn and Return! ‘If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination. (Pro 28:9). It’s the exact same message that ‘Jesus’ preached, and ‘John’ preached. What’s holding you back, some bad teaching? Need help? I’ve been wrestling for the past 3 days as to this month’s topic. I almost did an article on the ‘Charac-tare-istic’s of Esau, after all he will have dominion and break the yoke of Jacob as spoken by Isaac; ‘By your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother; but when you grow restless you shall break his yoke from your neck." Gen 27:40. This is the verse is the one right before 41, ‘Now Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him, and Esau said to himself, "The days of mourning for my father are approaching; then I will kill my brother Jacob." I was prompted to go a find all the Scriptural verses on Do NOT fear, Fear Not, Be strong etc! Come to find out that there are a LOT in there, wonder why? I’m convinced on what you focus on expands. See Jacob and his speckled, spotted and striped rods that influenced the creation of speckled, spotted and striped livestock! (Gen.30) Fear is the food that fuels the enemy, it was the first fruit of consuming words spoken by the adversary. Doctrine of demons produces fear! (Gen 3:10) So I thought it prudent to unplug from the Fear factor that’s epidemic these days and practices a little ‘luo’; that’s greek for destroy, as in 1 John 3:8, ‘The Son of God appeared for THIS purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.’ Does he need to be destroyed or what these days! So Fear Not, Exercise Faith was a topic that I gave thought to. Not a bad resolution to make for those who are on the Gregorian/Julian calendar. This leads and feeds to this month’s topic. How does one be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove in this ever corrupting world and destroy the works of Ha-satan and those he influences to set the captives free? (Matt 16 18-19) I mean we need practical steps to take to behave in obedience to The Creators instructions. They are written down for us to learn here at the end of the ages, 1Co 10:11 ‘Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come.’ So if we DO them then He can Bless us! If we don’t DO them, then He can’t bless us, it’s really that simple. Before you jump off into the Salvation by works vs. Saved By grace knee jerk reaction, I’m not even talking about salvation. How many times have we heard, ‘what we need to have back in this nation is the Fear of the Lord’. Can you ever tell me when we ever had the Fear of The Lord in this country? Do you know How you get the Fear of the Lord? Because if you don’t; then you don’t have it. Pro 1:7, says: ‘The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.’ It’s just the Beginning of knowledge. So no wonder His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, (Read the Full verse of Hosea 4:6, ‘My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.) The reason why His people get destroyed is because we forgot The Law of The Creator! The Law = The Torah = The Books of Moses, the 1st 5 books in your bible! Someone has told us that we don’t need to study them because ‘it’s been done away with’, that’s the Old, and we’re the New! Yeah, how’s that working out for us? So we need the Fear of THE Lord, The Creator, and that’s just the beginning of Knowledge, then where and how do we get it since we’re being destroyed for lack of knowledge. Here’s a hint or 2. Let’s go back for our future! Let’s study more of the left side of our Bibles, The Law, The Torah, His Instructions on Right living to find The Fear of Him! 2 quick verses come to mind: Deu 5:29 ‘Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!’ Can’t you just hear the heart cry of Our Father, Oh that they had such a heart to hear and fear and do! All parents can relate to that! Deu 6:1-4 "Now this is the commandment, the statutes and the rules that the LORD your God commanded me to teach you, that you may DO them in the land to which you are going over, to possess it, that you may fear the LORD your God, you and your son and your son's son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be long. Hear therefore, O Israel, and be careful TO DO them, that it may go well with you, and that you may multiply greatly, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey. "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.’ Talk about a great benefit package! Resolve TO DO His Words this year. Keep His Sabbath, not yours, Keep His Festivals and Holidays, not the ones corrupted by the enemy, know why He wants us to discern between clean and unclean food. (Heb 5:14) No wonder fear is having a field day, and the dominion of Esau is manifesting! Something’s going on. There will be a remnant ready and prepared to destroy the works of the devil and not get destroyed for lack of knowledge because we won’t obey His Law or Torah, Instructions. Seems the Dark Night is rising, (John 9:4), and we are supposed to be The Light, yet we won’t read the words of enlightenment, Psa 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psa 119:130. The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.’ Psalm 119 is all about His Torah, His Law. The Torah, His Law, The Light the One that ‘Jesus’ didn't to do away with, (Matt 5 14-17) is the object in your past that is closer that you think!!! May I suggest you walk in it this year and forever more, who knows you just might destroy the works of the devil and find rest for your souls in these troublesome times. Jer 6:16 Thus says the LORD: "Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.'’
